Vietnamese Pho Northern Chinese Chao Mein Cantonese Lo Mein Sake Tastings
Noodles stand for long life in many Asian cultures, and they come in hundreds of forms across the continent: wide or skinny, wheat or rice, ladled into a steaming bowl or tossed in a screaming-hot wok. In this hands-on class, Chef walks you through three Asian Noodle classics and the stories behind them. By the end you'll know your way around a Noodle better than any takeout menu does. We'll start with Vietnamese Pho. Chef shows you how to build its deeply aromatic broth and serves you a bowl as an appetizer. While you slurp, Chef demonstrates two Chinese favorites: Northern-style Chao Mein and Cantonese Lo Mein. Then it's your turn to put and apron on and get rolling. Make Lo Mein noodles from scratch, rolling and cutting the dough yourself. Then fire up the wok and stir-fry your own Chao Mein and Lo Mein with proteins and fresh veggies. When you're done, sit down and enjoy everything you've made. You'll head home with the recipes and the confidence to make Noodle night a regular thing. And yes, there's a Sake tasting to go along with your Noodles!
