Classic Egg Pasta Marinara Sauce Meatballs Garlic Bread Grilla-Misu
Italy's most beloved dinner is also one of the most important things a young cook can learn to make — and in this one-day hands-on class, Junior Chefs ages 9 to 14 will make it the right way, entirely from scratch. Beginner-friendly and packed with real culinary technique, this is the kind of class that starts a lifetime of cooking. Mangia! Our Chef guides Junior Chefs through every component of a classic Italian Spaghetti & Meatball dinner, building foundational skills at every step. They'll mix and roll Classic Egg Pasta Dough from scratch — learning how fresh pasta is made and why it's so different from the boxed stuff. They'll build a rich, slow-simmered Marinara Sauce from scratch, understanding how simple ingredients become something extraordinary with the right technique. And they'll roll and cook perfect Meatballs — seasoned, browned, and finished in the sauce where they belong. Garlic Bread rounds out the meal, and the whole spread gets devoured together before everyone heads home. But first — dessert. Junior Chefs will also make a Grilla-Misu, a fun, approachable twist on classic Italian Tiramisu that's as delicious as it sounds. Kids will leave with a full belly, sharpened kitchen skills including mixing, measuring, knife work, and sauce-making, and food to take home — along with the recipes to recreate this iconic Italian dinner any night of the week. This is where your own kitchen traditions begin. Also check out our other Junior Chefs 1-Day Camp ("Kansas City BBQ" on Tuesday, Nov. 24 in Overland Park at 10:00am.
